When Not to Use Ground Distance Relays

Driving down a freeway in Los Angeles and I spotted this transmission line corridor. If you count the number of lines, you will see 10 of them! This is a good reason to disable ground distance. It becomes practically impossible to account for the mutual coupling of all the conductors in your short-circuit program.
